Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...

Anthony F. Castriota

Anthony is a native of the Northeastern U.S.A. but graduated from the Universtity of New Mexico at Albuquerque with a degree in Anthropology, Archeology and Asian Studies. In 2012, Anthony and his wife made their home in a suburb of Paris, France, where Anthony teaches English, primarily to French students of business. His writing has focused so far mainly on essays, poetry and drama.

The Broad Divide” introduces Danny Aurturo, a private investigator in Albuquerque, who is approached by an oddly refined gentleman, Mr. Xavier Gilles. Danny’s new client has come for aid in searching for a daughter-like companion, Lilian, who has mysteriously disappeared.

Readers will be eager to follow the plot, which reveals one surprise after another concerning the characters of Gilles and Lilian. The story has a literal “I told you so” ending, but readers will want more and suggest that this short story actually makes an impressive first chapter in a longer work, perhaps a novella or even a novel.
