If There Were a Clone of You

by Celine Rose Mariotti

Wouldn’t life be somehow easier
If there were a clone of you?
You’re just one
But, with a clone,
You’re two!

You could send your clone to work,
No one would know
It wasn’t the real you.
While your clone was at work,
You could relax,
Have a cup of coffee or two,
If there were a clone of you.

If there were a clone of you,
You could fool the doctor, too!
Send the clone for your medical checkup,
While you go to the gym
To do your workout.
The last laugh is on the doctor;
There’s not just one of you now,
There’s two!

If there were a clone of you,
The clone could go
Do the grocery shopping
While you sit home and watch
A Matlock rerun or two.
No one would know
It wasn’t the real you,
If there were a clone of you.
