Evelyn went through school loving to read but experiencing such a strong aversion to writing that a full scholarship could not inveigle her into majoring in it. Fortunately, she has discovered words for self-expression. and her fourth novel in a series is due out this year.

“Green Cheese and Stardust” has a title that tells readers in advance that the story will frolic in popular images and humorous myths. Actually, the story deals with the danger of the unknown.

The main character, Emma, is assigned to visit her great-aunt Linda at New Year’s. Emma has no idea who Linda is or why she must visit the lady aside from its being an obscure family custom. Emma will find, though, that her own carelessness in popping fizzy-wine corks will open portals to parallel universes. And those universes aren’t really parallel; they intersect dangerously with Emma’s own.
