Shi Kejian

Bewildering Stories biography

to Bewildering Stories bibliography

Shi Kejian is Chinese. Chinese do not name children after relatives but Kejian’s parents wanted something special so they named him in honor of a very old family hero from the Ming Dynasty, Shi Kefa. In olden times, parents would use part of the given name to carry on the family. Kejian is in America to continue his education.

James L. Secor is a world traveler, having lived and taught in Japan and China. Although he is in America now, he will probably return to China to be with his family. He has had several short stories and essays published here and there and has gotten some attention for his tanka writing. Jim was Kejian’s teacher and they have since become good friends in writing.

Zhang Na is Jim Secor’s daughter. She is currently completing her education in China.
