Luis López Nieves

Bewildering Stories biography

Luis López Nieves is a Puerto Rican author who writes in Spanish and has an interesting website — ciudadseva.com on which can be found a variety of stories as well as his own. He has written stories about Puerto Rico in the 16th century in “La verdadera muerte de Juan Ponce de León” (“The True Death of Juan Ponce de León”) and at least one tale that reflects the rivalry between England and Spain in the age of Elizabeth I, in which the name 'el Draco' (Francis Drake) figures.

“Lisa di Noldo,” otherwise known as Lisa del Giocondo and whose maiden name was Lisa Gherardini, was painted by Leonardo da Vinci as La Gioconda or the Mona Lisa. It is, I think, one of L.L. Nieves's least typical and least well-known stories.
