By day, I work in books marketing for an academic press; by night, I write short-form and long-form speculative fiction, with a preference for weird, melancholic, folkloric fantasy.
I am trained as a historian, earning my PhD in 20th century U.S. history from Duke University in 2019, which always informs my writing, whether in a historical bent to my fantasy or in thematic interests in power, knowledge creation, and the way we tell stories. I live in Durham, North Carolina with my spouse and a garden of spicy peppers.
