Glenn Gray is a Radiologist in private practice. He’s a native New Yorker, but spent several formative years after high school in Venice, California, pounding iron at Gold’s Gym with the best of them. Catch his stories in several e-zines including Thuglit, DZ Allen’s Muzzle Flash, Underground Voices, and Powder Burn Flash. Several stories have appeared in Medical Economics Magazine as well, one of which won ‘Best Young Doctor Article’ in their 1999 contest.
At age eighteen, Glenn drove from Long Island to Los Angeles in a beat up old Mercury with an oil leak and a bad paint job. Shortly after arriving, he junked the car and bought a motorcycle, and quickly took to cruising Pacific Coast Highway at sunset. When he wasn’t at the gym or on the beach he worked various jobs, including stints as a private trainer, health club rep, security guard, car salesman and night club doorman.
After enough sun, he returned to New York and earned a B.S. in physical therapy from SUNY Stony Brook. He obtained his M.D. from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, and then did an internship in surgery and a residency in radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital. He continued with a fellowship in neuroradiology, divided between New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Currently, he is at work on a novel, a medical/crime thriller set in Brooklyn, with many scenes taking place in a local gym — and others in a hospital.
