Bewildering Stories biography

I live in Toronto. I trained as an actress, which taught me a lot about writing. I’ve had many different jobs: usher at a movie theatre, literacy instructor, receptionist, secretary, hot walker at a racetrack, and cook in a private residence (That one didn’t last long, as I don’t know how to cook).

I acted in a lot of radio plays and started writing then. I wrote radio plays for the CBC and a play for the Blyth Theatre Festival. I also translated and adapted a few of the short stories by the Uruguayan writer Felisberto Hernández for the CBC, which was one of the most rewarding times in my life as he was such a wonderful writer.

I began writing short fiction in 2015 and, since then, my stories have appeared in journals in the USA, the UK and Canada, including Litro, Orca, the Lincoln Review, Fairlight Books, Chiron Review, the Masters Review and Fiction International.

I love writing stories about people from all walks of life confronted with thorny problems and impossible situations.
