Bewildering Stories biography

Writing from my tiny appartment above a bicycle shop on the outskirts of Tokyo, it’s no coincidence that most of my stories are heavily influenced by Japanese culture. My previous work has appeared in Frostwriting and Planet Magazine.

Currently I’m hard at work on a kids’ novel and an extensive non-fiction book, which are both centered on Japanese mythology and folklore. I’m also the creator and sole editor of Eight Clouds, an e-zine dedicated to promoting new writers.

For my living, I teach English at a university in Tokyo. I write for fun and teach for money, but often wish it were the other way around.
