Bewildering Stories biography

I am an Australian poet and short story writer and have been a member of Friendly Street Poets since 1979. I am the author of the chapbook Only the Questions Are Eternal and the full-length poetry collections Mapping the World (commended for the Fellowship of Australian Writers Anne Elder Award 2008) and Afloat in Light (UWA Publishing 2017)

My speculative fiction has appeared in Bewildering Stories, The Zodiac Review and Antipodean SF.

My poems have appeared widely in Australia and the U.S. in publications including over 20 of the Friendly Street Readers, and numerous literary magazines such as Atlanta Review, The Broadkill Review, Grey Sparrow Journal, Red River Review, Schuylkill Valley Review, Axon Journal, Verity La. U.S. 1 Poets Worksheets, 5AM and Cordite Poetry Review.

I was the winner of the Wirra Wirra Vineyards Short Story Prize (2005). More recently, in 2014, I won the inaugural University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor’s International Poetry Prize and was shortlisted for the Newcastle Poetry Prize.
