Rosalind Kaplan

Rosalind is based in Philadelphia, where she lives with her family. She has an MFA degree in Creative Nonfiction from Lesley University and is a writer, physician and a teacher of Narrative Medicine. Her prize-winning memoirs and essays have appeared in many literary journals, and she has published a full-length memoir titled, significantly, The Patient in the White Coat.

“Dangerous Bedfellows” does have strong overtones of a memoir, but it deserves consideration as an essay because it may well bring together in one incident a number of themes that might otherwise be separate. A reader suggests that the husband might be most easily protected from the wife’s acting out her dreams not by being clad in protective sleeping gear but by acquiring another bed or, perhaps, mattress and sleeping bag.
