I could have done anything,
As the full moon burst from the sea.
I could have done anything
Under that silvering sky,
Her arms around me
Like a circle of bones.
I held them close,
As we fell forever,
Shadows to the sand,
Falling past the young girls with their candles
Held high at the edge of the water,
Falling past those fires and into the sea.
I could have done anything,
But everything I did was wrong.
