Revolution of the Warriors

were victorious,
and the Heike fell
on their swords
for grief and love
of the young Antoku.

It was said that is why
your shells took on
the look of warriors.
The Heike were defeated,
but you inhabited their souls
and in so doing became kinshi.

Taboo. Inedible.
And the more you bred
and resembled
the warrior dead,
the more you were
returned to the sea bed.

Thus the myth perpetuates
itself, and thus the Heikeganu
wins the evolution.
