Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...

Felix Lilly

Felix is based in the Pacific Northwest and is a student of nursing. In addition, Felix is a musician and regularly plays classical piano music in clinical and community settings. Felix is also a writer who enjoys exploring memory, identity and emotions shaping people’s identities and often blends surrealism and realism.

The Garden Where Our Names Were Thorns” is a title that suggests symbolic imagery, which readers will normally recognize as fairly commonplace. But they will discover immediately that the magic of the story consists in the garden — and its flowers — being taken literally as both emblems and keys to the characters’ emotions. The story illustrates the power of metaphorical symbols’ taking on the reality of physical signs.
