Martin Elster

Martin has been a percussionist with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles for more than forty years. The musical background has strongly influenced his fondness for metrical poetry.

“Axis Denied” is a poem that celebrates the rhythm of Earth’s seasons by imagining a time when the opposite might have happened, when its axis might have been vertical to its orbit rather than inclined.
