Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Adam Williams
Adam Williams comes from Wales and is a medical student aspiring to become a physician. He enjoys writing short stories in science fiction and fantasy.
“The Visionary” has an ironic title that refers to a geneticist who is actually an egomaniac. Henry, the scientist, takes advantage of a legal loophole to perform increasingly unethical experiments on human beings with no consideration of the consequences.
From beginning to end, Henry is single-minded; he can’t understand why he isn’t admired as a ”visionary” even when he generates crossbreeds of humans and pigs. Some people may admire Henry; others will take his story as a cautionary tale about the nature and consequences of stupidity.
