Anatomy of the Lemon: Carpel Section” is a poem that invites readers to return to it often for insights into its meaning. The form and style may recall those of the French Symbolists, particularly Rimbaud and Mallarmé. The ending opens the door to reflections upon the function of literature:

The lemon reveals the migratory life
in the taste of the fish. Reading by tongue. Writing with fruit.
Sections of lemon write chapters of fish.
