Michael Pedretti

Michael has published at least eleven books of poetry and studies of subjects such as Movement Theatre International’s Mime and Clown Festivals.

“ Seven Ages of Man” is a prose poem in verse subtitled “an extremely brief history of the universe.” That’s enough to bring prospective readers up short with an extremely brief question: “What universe?” If it’s the nearly 14-billion year-old universe detected by modern astronomy, then any number of “ages of man” would amount to a thimbleful of water out of Lake Superior. But not so fast, there; it’s a history of the universe as mankind perceives it. That’s a perspective that expands the view.
