Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Robby Dube
Robby has a degree in law from the University of Minnesota Law School and has been practicing law as a Hawaii Supreme Court clerk and as an attorney. In addition to legal works including articles and guidebooks, he has published a short story, poems and a musical play, which has been performed at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis.
“Fade-In” will amuse readers with its format of a frame story in which the embedded story is trying to get out from within the frame, which it understands less and less as time goes on. When, at last, the narrator seems to fail by succeeding, readers may object: “Hey, waitaminnit, doesn’t this story overstep Bewildering Stories’ “dead narrator” guideline?” Well, yes, it does, in a way. But the story turns the guideline around by saying, in effect, “Bang! I was alive.” Bewildering Stories finds in favour of the humour.
