Bewildering Stories biography

Before I lived with dead people, then doubled down and spent my career taking care of their families, I was a writer. Books without words became inspiration, and writing my own stories to go along with the pictures angered my siblings - and got me into trouble on more than one occasion.

My career in the funeral business only provided more inspiration to create stories. The emotion, the carnage, the twisting and turning of what life is, and what it could be, provided endless ideas in a skewed reality. I am amazed by the misery, the hope, and the completely mundane events that shape our world.

It’s not easy to move on from such an upbringing and career, so I didn’t. My sister and I foster our morbid preoccupation by hosting a podcast about death and our experiences in the family funeral home. Hey, some girls have spa days... we do this.

Writing is what brings me pleasure. If my stories entertain other people, well that’s just a bonus. Currently, I have two complete novels, two well underway novels, and dozens of short stories looking for a home. If they don’t get adopted, I am happy to keep them close to my heart, right where they started.
