Challenge 95 response

by Stephen Heister

I am not sure if this is what you're looking for in the challenge, probably a bit simplistic but all three mentioned stories all involved a mixing of the supernatural world with the natural world. Like stepping through a doorway from one reality to the next.

Thanks for the response, Stephen! It’s relatively easy to find something in common between any two of the stories and poem cited in Challenge 95, but it’s a lot harder to find something in common with all three. Anyhow, I think you make a valid point.

Along the same lines as what you suggest, one might also say that all three “stories” have an animal in them: the Minotaur, the guardian beast that serves as an extra “curse” for Lady Syncyre, and the name of the professor in Thomas R.’s poem, “Mrs. Frog.”

On the other hand, what the three stories have in common may not be a “thing” at all. But I have no “canned” answer, just a feeling that includes all three. The Challenges are not intended as guessing games, and you don’t have to read my mind; I’m really interested in what other readers think. Let’s wait and see if anyone else has other ideas. I’ll explain what my feeling is, in issue 97.
