Challenge 913

Cashed-In Chips

  1. In Angelisa Fontaine-Wood’s The Historian’s Debt, Adrienne and Aurélien feel they have incurred moral debts. What are these debts, and how does each of the twins go about settling them?

  2. In Joseph Lagorio’s Hereditary Expressions: How do the fathers — Tom and Karl — differ from factory workers in the late 19th century? How does the story demonstrate that freedom incurs responsibility?

  3. In J. H. Zech’s Ilysveil: Den of Delirium: The characters are of various species such as human, efl, dragonborn, and centaur. Do the species have any function in the story other than occasionally displaying physical traits? Could they not all be of the same species?

  4. In Gary Clifton, The Wrong Men: Does the story overstep Bewildering Stories’ “Dream Stories” guideline? If “Wilson’s” delusion is at least partly deliberate, what caution does it offer to authors of Wild West tales?
