Late Night Symphony

John Grey

I've learned to love the syncopation:
rain on roof,
the click of bones
hanging from the rafters.
It's like the intro to a song.
I hum a bar or two,
whistle the melody,
just to show
I'm still part of the orchestra.
And of course, on cue,
the scream from the cellar.
And the cymbal clash of thunder.
And of course, the dance steps
of dem bones.
