A Dizain for Palissy

Why did you make me like this? I your plate
To ask why lizards cling to me do dare
And snakes and frogs, crustaceans surely sate
The sight of those who eat from me and scare
Them with their sliminess. You do not care
Perhaps to censor such monstrosities,
Smoothing with bumps anfractuosities.
Trying hard aesthetically to please us,
You take these rustic curiosities
From ponds to fashion casts of them and tease us.
