Vino un amigo de lejos a verme
vino a hablar y a decirme:
estamos lejos y más lejano
será el sitio a donde apunten tus días
estoy aquí escuchándolo decir
estaremos tan lejos como tu mano lo escriba
como el tamaño de tu corazón lo dicte
y en el abrazo de la despedida
el mundo es pequeño y memorable

A friend from afar visited me
He flew in to chat and said,
“We’re far away and distant.
It’ll be the place where your days point to.”
I’m here listening to him say,
“We’ll be as apart as your hand writes,
as apart as the size of your heart dictates.”
In a farewell embrace,
the world becomes small and memorable
