93 million miles to the sun,
8.3 minutes at the speed of light;
some hours to the outer planets, but
a half year to our furthest planetoids
and 4.3 years to the nearest star,
Alpha Centauri. How far is it then
to a girl distant by some 30 years?
Even with advances in technology,
what hope ever to reach her in this life?
