Ghosting Me

by James Robert Rudolph

You need no sun
to cast my shadow,
lightlessly you shadow us.

Reluctant apparition,
you levitate without menace,
soundlessly, transparent.
You are behind me, beyond me,
we are hesitantly attached.

You are the threat of Venus
and the sly satyr.
You are memory most powerful,
of youth budding to man,
without resistance reaching
to the heart of a heart,
his heart.
