The Riddle

by Saren Axius

We must sit back,
Enjoy the view, and remember
The sometimes we really lack
The insight to see
A world created by dreams.

What is it
That drags us out of bed
Day after day, much more bossy
Than anyone has said?

It tells us everything:
When to sleep, when to eat;
Never thanking us, never so sweet
Always going forward to
Whatever lies ahead — something new.

If it’s right, there’s a fight
If it’s wrong, then it won’t be long
Before it heals your soul,
So you can keep moving on.
