Reflections in the Night

by Jason C. Ford

A set of flickers known as forms of light
Cannot describe a song we hear from bird
With voice so sweet ascending up in height
As we reflect upon event which once occurred.
Remember when you sang a noble song
Upon a lonely bridge as we travelled along
The memories of dire fortunes already cracked
And strands of hope which still remain intact.
As song of bird evolves into a stable link
Between the episodes already gone
And what remains in place, I start to think
About the way we stand as hearts alone.
The song we hear is helping us to seek the way
Of looking past the residue of past decay.
