Bewildering Stories

Medieval Lights

by Richard Ong

Photo artwork I did after attending Medieval Times, here in Toronto. It’s an adaptation of a photo of the parade of colours. There’s nothing like the thrill of watching knights bash at each other in tournaments. There were six coloured knights, and the crowd was divided into equal portions of cheers and jeers. Displaying phenomenal horsemanship, these knights use real steel weapons with the occasional spark flying when blades clash in the air!

It was pretty expensive, but you get a huge half-chicken dinner, a small rack of ribs, potato and apple pie. And you get to eat with your hands like a barbarian as you pound the table and cheer for your colour.
