Bewildering Stories

The Force of Temporal Power

P. Silversmith

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
--Charles Dickens

"Life is one long struggle in the dark."
–Lucretius

From reading this book, I learned that there are obstacles in life, but time can carry us through them. Time is an independent variable, and life is controlled by it. There are limits to what we can do, and some things are superfluous. Every period of time has both good and bad aspects to it, but we can make the best of the worst. I also learned that though time is independent, we can still influence how it affects us. We can decide when to do certain activities. There are limits in life, but we can make the best of them and try to find alternative solutions. Certain activities are superfluous, but each activity, whether unnecessary or not, is both beneficial and maleficent in different ways. Even though time is independent, we still have the freedom to make our own choices to influence our own lives.
