To The Pain...

by Jerry

Ya know, it's a pain growing older. I (and my parents) have spent thousands of dollars on tooth repair, but I was talking to my white-haired old mother and she said, "Fillings don't last, son." And to my chagrin, the old troublemaker was right. I had a piece of tooth come off a tooth that was mostly filling (sorry, I predate fluoridation, and lived in an area with really soft water...) and of course, it got infected, and abscessed, and my jaw swelled up like a cartoon. And the dentist said, "We can save that tooth, ya know. Only $1600.00! Sign here!" So I was talking to a missionary friend who just returned from Bolivia, and mentioned this mercenary monstrosity. He sighed in relief. "I just had nine teeth repaired by a dentist in our church down in La Paz," he said. "She might have given me a deal, but it only cost $25.00 to do them all."

It's going to cost me $1400.00 to fly to La Paz. The other $200 will fix ALL my teeth.
