Armchair Observatory

Sky is filled with gems;
pink, orange, blue,
clusters, lines, pictures our minds compose,
mythologies
jewels of imagining
as if looking up is looking down
and high above the desert floor
tiny specks of life
people the pond of heaven.

The Geminids are just a trail of dust
debris from an asteroid’s field
we travel through each year.

But Oh
that impertinent pointer
streaks the sky
green

screams
look up, look up,
look at me
potential.

Lift your mind out of the dust of Earth
lift your mind out of the dust of
man and see
Oh see what dust can do
what dust can be.
