Star Trick

by Arnold Hollander

I was a Saggie baby, I was always meant to be.
But with a little movement, a trick’s been played on me.
My heaven’s rearranged, I no longer trust my sky.
My birthright has been stolen, all I can do is cry.

Somewhere in the firmament there is a constellation
with the name of Ophiuchus. That is the explanation.
It’s hanging there unwrapped for all the world to see,
and an ancient Greek is laughing. I know he laughs at me.
