Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Scott Wilson
Scott lists his interests as science fiction, fantasy, horror, westerns, and Australian literature. So far he’s published nearly seventy stories in print and on the Net, and he was a newspaper editor for three years.
“The Gas Fields of Mars” seems to combine science fiction, fantasy, and horror. The plot is fairly standard: a bewitched man discovers that his Martian lover is actually a succubus. Mars is a little arbitrary as a locale, but I doubt it would be seemly to make the setting the Australian outback. Rather the story’s main interest is its atmosphere, which is created in a stylistic tour de force reminiscent of H. P. Lovecraft.
