Angel of Ashes

by Morrigan Oran

Today I burned my heaven
In your memory,
My angel of ashes,
Cast to quiet seas.

Can I suffer enough
Dark eternities alone
For you,
For my treachery?

Often now,
I seek to ease my misery
In the storms
That rage in my seas.
But all their fury
Cannot bring you back to me.

Lightning flashing in my eyes
Reflects back all my lies,
A mighty sea burning
With your memory,
My angel of ashes.
