Bewildering Stories Editorial

I've got to cut back. Y'know, travelling around the country can be tiring, but, wow, being at home can be even moreso.

I have a stake in a small internet company. It hasn't made ME any money in several years, but I'm the tech guy. When I come home (or sometimes when I'm out running around) I get calls... Somebody has hacked the mail server... Susie can't get her mail... The authentication files aren't getting updated... This webserver is really old and out of date and all 10 gigabytes of data -- various websites, graphics, and 12 hundred zillion MP3s all need to be catagorized and moved over to this other server, and this needs done, and that needs done, and the lawyer and the CPA that you do networking for need this and need that and I don't care any more.

Yep, sad commentary. I've spent the last 10 years of my life (wow, I just did the math) trying to build up an Internet and networking service. Only now, I run around teaching seminars that are just fun! and I'm involved in Bewildering Stories and now Bewildering Press, and guess what? I'm willing to let all this computer-business oriented stuff go.

And it is about time. I need to focus, concentrate... Yeah, when an older person needs a computer, I can get one for them cheap, or free. When a friend has no clue about their computer problems, I'll be there. But the rest of it? It's time to let it go.
