Flying

Well, I flew out of Seattle/Tacoma International Airport this morning, and I felt... "I must be crazy..." There were perhaps 3 or 4 HUNDRED people in ONE line to go through the TSA security checkpoint. Inside the fencing, that was winding around like a cattle chute, I was reminded of the Bill Cosby routine from many years ago and a herd of cattle with hoof and mouth disease, all lined up in a nice long line waiting for the knackers.

And then I saw a poster saying, "Warning: Homeland Security has determined that the airport in Bali doesn't have proper security safeguards!" Of course, manifold security exercises show that TSA hasn't a clue, nor a grasp of the theory and practice of security. But it does make a darn fine bureaucracy!
