Bewildering Stories welcomes...

David J. Burnham

David Burnham, a resident of Brighton, joins our large contingent of British contributors. He also joins at least one other contributor we know of as a colleague in the field of dentistry: Roberto Sanhueza.

England seems just the place for stories set in haunted castles; France, no. The only mysterious French castles I can think of go back to 12th-century romances, and there the magic makes the castles either symbolic places or occasions for comedy.

Rather, David has seized upon France’s scientific tradition and put on stage a kind of latter-day Madame Curie who makes a final discovery in a mysterious — but ultimately scientific — text. And he’s illustrated the story with what I think is one of the prettiest pictures we have!

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, David. We hope to hear from you again soon and often.
