Tala Bar warns about...

Pay Pal Outside the U.S.

Having registered and had various magazines put money in his Pay Pal account, Norman found out he could not take the money out or use it in any way because he does not live in the U.S.A. They demanded he have a credit card, and we sent them my Visa international (as I was a partner in the account), and they said they could not use it because it was registered on an Israeli bank, and then proceeded to charge us commision for never using it at all.

Only lately we managed to get them to transfer the money to the account of a friend of Norman's who lives in America, who had promised to send us a personal check when the money is put into his account. I would not advise anyone to go through this via dolorosa the way we have been through.

Yours, Tala

Thank you for the caution, Tala... A lot of our contributors live outside the U.S. We hope your experience will alert them to possible and, one would think, unnecessary complications.
