Decmerion P. Newhamstershire, Esq. (1958- )

Decmerion Penultimatato Newhamstershire was born on April 31, 1958, a day commonly celebrated as Inverse Halloween, since it is located six months away from Halloween, by the citizens of Ekivania. Newhamstershire, indeed, was born in Ekivania, although he does not remember whether the term refers to a city, a region, or a province. Or, indeed, even a nation, though he does not think such a nation exists.

He does not remember much of his childhood, but he admits it was a very confusing experience, which greatly influenced his writing. He started writing in 2002 on a whim. Accidentally getting lost on the Net, and obviously confused, he found himself at the Bewildering Stories web site, where he decided to write something and get published. This he did, and his first story, "Agack, the Light!", appeared in our fifth issue, Augury 2002. He followed it up with two more stories, aptly titled "Outrage!" and "Dumbstruck, with a Vengeance!", which appeared in our sixth issue, Toomuchtoremember 2002. Soon afterward, he returned with two additional stories in our ninth issue, Novembril 2002, "The Utter Absurdity!" and "Nonsense!" With this issue, he gives us three new stories that we think are his best yet: "Confused!", "Impossible!", and "Horrors Indescribable!"

Newhamstershire says his influences are William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Tom Brokaw, Geoffrey Chaucer, Lewis Carroll, Joseph Conrad, Ursula K. Le Guin, Dr. Seuss, Gardner Dozois, Britney Spears, and Virt Lovecraft.
