Bewildering Stories biography

Sonya Zalubowski is new to fiction after many years as a news reporter in jobs that took her all over Eastern Europe. These days, she likes to call herself a “recovering” journalist, working hard to overcome all those bad writing habits by learning instead to show, not tell. The “Dangerous Writers” group in Portland, Oregon, has been invaluable. She’s loving the writing as well as living in the beautiful rose city where she’s working on a memoir about her experiences as a Polish-American reporting from Poland during the Solidarity uprising that led to the downfall of Communism.
