V. Ulea

Bewildering Stories biography

V. Ulea (Vera Zubarev) is a bilingual writer, a scholar and a filmmaker. She is currently teaching courses on decisionmaking in the University of Pennsylvania. Her full feature film, Four Funny Families, was a winner of the Fresh Frame Contest.

V. Ulea has published books of poetry, prose, and literary criticism in the U.S. and Europe. Her book, About Angels, About God, About Poetry (Livingston Press, 2002) won The Top Book Award at the International Book Fair “Green Wave” (Ukraine, Odessa, 2004).

Her cycle of poems, Letters from Another Planet was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Her works have appeared in the Literary Review, RE:AL, Princeton Arts Review, Bitter Oleander, Sein und Werden, Apollo’s Lyre, and other award-winning journals and magazines.
