Mia Tijam

Bewildering Stories biography

Mia Tijam has a degree in Creative Writing and a minor in European Languages from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She is a critic for the Happy Monday Poetry Readings and Rocket Kapre, a fellow at the 2007 Dumaguete National Writers’ Workshop, and co-editor of the Philippine Speculative Fiction Sampler.

Her work has been published in the Philippines Free Press, Philippine Speculative Fiction anthologies, Philippine Genre Stories, and Expanded Horizons; it has merited an Honorable Mention in the 2008 Year’s Best Fantasy & Horror, finalist status in the 2009 Philippines Free Press Literary Awards, inclusion in Charles Tan’s Best of Philippine Speculative Fiction 2009, UP Press Best of Philippine Speculative Fiction 2005-2010, and the 2012 Mariner Awards. So far she considers her greatest and wildest story her newborn son, R.A. Khan Tijam.
