Mira Spindler

Bewildering Stories biography

Mira Spindler is an elusive fugitive from the empirical world, where she is frequently mistaken for a mild-mannered former humanities professor who is the author of two non-fiction books: Dislocating the Color Line (Stanford Univ.Press) and Candy: A Century of Panic and Pleasure (Faber and Faber).

In her more reputable guise, she has also written opinion and commentary for mainstream publications (print/on-line) including The New York Times, Time, The Atlantic, Gastronomica, Saveur, The Washington Post. Her current hideout is in Brooklyn.
