Francine Schwartz lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. She’s published articles and reviews for print and web in subjects that range from health to finance and travel. She’s written marketing material for a variety of technology companies, including Autodesk and Dolby Labs. You can hear her many character voices on several popular children’s CD ROMs.
Francine shares her home with an artist who loves to cook, a mixed breed terrier who should be in the movies, and a calico cat who looks like a Disney creation. Her daughter, a student at UC Berkeley, teaches her everything, while the canine and feline teach her everything else.
Francine says, “I believe that picturing things is inherent to how humans communicate. (Think cave paintings.) I like to write about innovations in technology, art, or science, and about issues that affect society. I like to write stories that stir emotions and serve as a catalyst to deeper understanding about ourselves and the rest of the planet. I believe rhythm is the key to good writing, be it for the written or the spoken word. And more important than anything — to tell a good story.”
