Bewildering Stories biography
I am from Munich, Germany and now live in New York. When I am “stuck” in a story, I have found it helpful to translate it. The act of taking words from one culture to another obliges me to look for the essence of the story or the root of a word or the universality or specificity of a feeling. That does not necessarily mean that my stories — when I think they are done — really are done.
