Bewildering Stories biography

I was born and raised in North Mississippi, receiving a business degree from the University of Mississippi. I and my family have lived in Hendersonville, North Carolina since 1988.

I’ve had short stories and poems published in a number of literary publications across the nation, including The MacGuffin, Nuthouse, Cooweescoowee, Calliope, and now Bewildering Stories. My story, “The Wart Charmer” won the gold at the 2012 North Carolina Silver Arts Competition. This story can be read on my website.

I am a charter member of the Appalachian Round Table, a writer’s group (which includes Bewildering Stories contributor R.R. Brooks).

I’ve taught a creative writing course entitled, “Hooks, Handles, and Men with Funny Hats,” through the Blue Ridge Community College continuing education program. For the last fourteen years, I have served as facilitator of the Blue Ridge Writers’ Group in Hendersonville.
