Bewildering Stories biography

I was born and raised in Venezuela to Syrian immigrants. I lived and worked in four continents. My current residence is in Canada. My family and extended family are scattered across the globe. My first husband is Danish. My second and current husband is German. I have been to 59 countries (as of November 2019). I speak five languages. I love traveling, photography, painting and writing. My favorite colour is red. My favorite scents are black musk and oud.

With such a mobility journey, I experienced identity crisis and not fitting-in for most my life. However, I recently determined that “citizen of the world” best identifies how I feel and live.

I started writing at a very early age by way of hiding my sorrows and protecting my intimacies in a journal. I first wrote in Spanish, which is my mother tongue. Then I wrote in Arabic, which is my family’s language. Then I experienced writing in French and later in English. I currently write in the required language for the topic.

I spent 40 years in the corporate world. Besides my writing activities, I currently run a consulting business specializing in colour trends and forecasting, strategic marketing and copywriting. I enjoy public speaking, whether online or on stage, and have lectured, and continue doing so, about colour and its importance at international conferences, trade shows and universities.

I am a member of the Board of Directors of Color Marketing Group® (CMG) and the President of the Guelph chapter of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC).
