James A. Ford

Bewildering Stories biography

James A. Ford lives in Ottawa, Canada with his wife and two girls. His past employment has varied from short order cook, to government clerk, to lawyer. His favorite occupation however is writing.

First published in 1996 in the now defunct Crossroads Magazine, James has written a novel (as yet unpublished) and many short science fiction and horror stories, the most recent currently appearing online in Backhand Stories, and Planet Magazine.

James tries to write a story a week whether he wants to or not, believing the mere act of writing improves the art. He is often taken with a new story idea in the middle of a domestic chore, and his family watches with chagrin as he drops what he is doing and heads to the basement to tap away on his old keyboard.
